Tips for final exams


  • Time management. Make a list of what needs to be done each day. Set realistic goals and priorities, and check off tasks as they are accomplished. Study in a quiet place without distractions.
  • Practice relaxation techniques. Whenever you feel tense, take slow and deep breaths for several minutes. Treat yourself to little blocks of time every day in which you do something that you really enjoy, such as listening to music.
  • Exercise regularly and eat a balanced diet daily. Limit fried, processed foods and white bread. Choose whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Avoid too much caffeine. Maintain a regular sleep schedule so that you wake up feeling refreshed. Try to establish a realistic exercise routine.
  • Use reinforcing positive self-statements. Give yourself pep talks that help you cope, e.g., “I can handle this,” “It’s not the end of the world,” “I can do this.” Be kind to yourself!
